At the 2024 Wisconsin Integrated Resource Management Conference (WIRMC), Hilltopper was presented with a prestigious award via the Associated Recyclers of Wisconsin. This statewide award of "Outstanding Achievement in Waste Reduction & Recycling - Private Entity" shines light on many unique aspects of our company. In Oct 2023, staff from Trempealeau County Community Television and other community members collaberated with Hilltopper staff to produce an educational video on recycling for local residents, businesses, etc. of Arcadia, WI. What makes this video so unique is education is both shared in english and spanish!
In May 2023, Hilltopper was awarded a grant from the Food Packaging Institute’s Foam Recycling Coalition
(FRC) of $50,000 to begin recycling polystyrene foam (ie. block packaging foam, foam cups, plates, clamshells, etc.).
In June 2023, Hilltopper Refuse & Recycling Service partnered alongside the City of La Crosse Fire Department and other local businesses/community service organizations to spread safety awareness about spent/used lithium-ion batteries.
